I urinated. It was my natural response. Fear and urine.

“Bite you? I can’t . . . can’t bite you. I’m an academic.”

“You want to be a vampire?”

I started to cry. “I do. But not like this.”

“Bite my fucking neck and drink my blood!”

His neck was pulsing against my mouth. I couldn’t talk; I couldn’t breathe. I tried to bite him but instead I sucked against his neck. It was pathetic. Then, I don’t know where it came from – I’m not normally violent – I bit his neck as hard as I could. I had his skin, ripped and torn in my mouth. I tasted blood: it was warm and spunky. Then the pain started in my mouth: I hadn’t bit his neck at all. I had bit right through my tongue, sliced the end right off. It was a small piece, but the blood flowed everywhere.
